I was first focused on the composition of this (series of 20) abstracts, with the ink line and washes. I then fell in love with the way I could build layers and patterns using my other medias. When creating an abstract painting I prefer some sense of structure, beyond color- field or heavy impastos. The titles reflect a sense of place, that came up as I worked on the painting. It in no way is to be defined by my interpretation! Art after all is in the eye of the beholder…especially abstract painting.
Small work on Paper, my TRAVEL KIT; ink, watercolor, gouache, and water-soluble crayon.
